Bypassing is a technique of using a trade show to generate publicity without actually exhibiting. In such a case you time your press releases to coincide with the show, and mention in passing the huge amount of interest that there is in your field at this time.
Because your press releases are so exciting they are picked up – even though you are not exhibiting. If the journalists covering the story are working the show, you can attend as a visitor and do an interview in a coffee bar. The journalist does not have to travel to meet you, and has no concern as to whether you are an exhibitor or not.
